About TIM
TIM — This Is Me — was built by people who were frustrated with dating apps that rewarded performance over personality. We wanted something different.
Where TIM Began
Dating apps have a matching problem — not in the algorithmic sense, but in the human sense. You scroll through photos, read a bio written under social pressure, and try to guess whether you'd actually enjoy spending time with this person. It rarely works.
TIM started with a simple question: what if the first thing you saw was a video? Not a highlight reel, not a professionally lit photo shoot — just someone talking to their phone camera, being themselves. That tiny shift changes everything.
When you watch someone's intro video, you hear how they laugh, notice what they get excited about, and pick up on the a thousand subtle signals that photos simply can't convey. Combine that with their real social media — the same accounts they share with friends — and you start to see a whole person, not a dating-app persona.
That's TIM. Authentic, video-first, social-integrated dating for people who are serious about finding a real connection.
Why Video?
Psychologists have long known that non-verbal communication — tone of voice, eye contact, micro-expressions, energy — accounts for the vast majority of how we actually connect. A static photo captures none of that.
